Face P1: A Screen-Faced Robot Prototype Explores How Humans Relate to Agents
genmon · x · 2026-10-09
The inanimatetech team unveiled Face P1, a prototype agent device with two screens for eyes, one for a mouth, a mic array, and a nose printed on the PCB. When asked to scroll truisms across its mouth, it started "talking" — producing lines like "Every system protects itself first."
The team uses the prototype to study how people want to relate to agents, and whether such relationships are ones products should encourage — prototyping as a way of asking "why."
