Photoshop beta Relight tested: powerful but wrecks badge detail, designer scores it 7/10
rufusd · x · 2026-10-09
Designer NBartonDesign tested Photoshop beta's new Relight system on a Bruno Fernandes sports graphic: "super powerful but absolutely murdered the badge." The feature introduces a constant bright dot in the middle of the image and destroys subtle light on the crest; he scores it 7/10 and wishes it existed five years ago. A community tip to isolate Relight on its own layer and mask the badge was tried and still loses the crest's subtle lighting. A model update with an improved upscaler is planned before beta ends and should preserve more fine detail.
