Gergely Orosz finds most students have never heard of Opus 5.5 or Claude Code
rickasaurus · x · 2026-10-09
Gergely Orosz shared an observation from visiting his old university: a week after Opus 5.5 launched, most students had no idea what it was, don't follow tech news, and have never used Codex, Claude Code, or Cursor. His university is now negotiating a Kiro license to show them something. He was struck by how different his information bubble is from that of typical students — even cutting-edge AI coding tools have very low penetration on campus.
