Non-technical recruiter builds Claude Code agent that sourced 40 candidates in 6 weeks

A recruiter at an investment firm, hiring across 30 open roles at portfolio companies scattered across 5 ATS instances, built a Claude Code agent to automate sourcing:
- Setup: A daily 9am cron job using 3 Ashby API keys and a routing table to map roles to instances; Crustdata and Full Enrich APIs turn job specs into filters (past company, skills, experience) and return candidates with contact details.
- Dedup was the hard part: wiring in Gmail lets the agent check whether someone was already contacted, since many past outreach never made it into the ATS.
- Results & cost: $200/mo for Claude Code, $1,000/mo for data credits; 40 quality candidates and 2 offers in about 6 weeks.
