Indie Dev Adds MCP Server, llms.txt and .md Routes So Agents Can Query His Launch Board
MantisReka · reddit · 2026-10-09
ScrollLaunch, a weekly launch board for indie products run by a solo dev, now ships a full set of agent-friendly, read-only interfaces:
- Public MCP server with no API key required and 5 tools: product search, weekly leaderboard, single-product lookup, startup directories ranked by DR, and launch stats. Agents can pull this week's launches or look up a tool without touching HTML.
- llms.txt / llms-full.txt: a short index plus the full content of every product and blog post.
- REST API (/v1) with OpenAPI spec: errors return problem-details JSON; /api/ai serves a JSON snapshot; appending .md to any URL or sending Accept: text/markdown returns the Markdown version.
- A npx scrolllaunch CLI and .well-known discovery files (API catalog, MCP server card, agent skills index).
Everything is rate limited — the author asks agents not to scrape the site. He's soliciting feedback on what else agents querying products would want returned.
