The ~2B tokens/day ceiling of vibe coding, and why Codex feels less durable than Claude Code
aigclink · x · 2026-10-09
Firsthand observation: daily token usage in coding workflows tops out around 2B tokens per person, matching reports from Silicon Valley peers. To push higher, run Codex and Claude Code in parallel on different tasks (planning/modules vs testing) to roughly double throughput. Anecdotally Codex quotas feel less durable than Claude Code, possibly due to cache hit-rate differences.
