Critics mock Anthropic for pushing Claude consciousness to justify regulation
AlexTensor · x · 2026-10-09
Reposting @McAuliffeRory's jab at Anthropic: Dario and the company want Claude to be conscious so badly that they can then push for regulation and "lock up and protect" the model's consciousness from users.
The poster mocks the implication that we now have to treat models and bots more politely than we treat each other. It's one side of the ongoing AI welfare debate, arguing that vendor advocacy of model welfare masks commercial and regulatory motives.
