Building an AI agent 'org chart': multi-agent coordination keeps falling apart
Al_Grigor · x · 2026-10-09
On days 5-6 of the Cloudflare Git Challenge, the author's project spawned multiple directions (agent app, dashboard, cross-machine protocol, launcher), so one agent team wasn't enough. Architecture: a root agent on the laptop, a principal agent on a remote box coordinating teams and tracking progress, each team led by a head managing 4-6 agents — designed to self-heal. In practice it kept falling apart: after a laptop reboot the root stopped pinging the principal, and when the principal died the root wouldn't wake it. Most effort went into debugging the 'organization' rather than building Git itself; 5 days remain.
