Claude Code bug: pressing Esc to exit /btw also kills the whole subagent
iOSonntag · ghdev · 2026-10-09
GitHub issue #100603 against anthropics/claude-code: after inspecting a subagent session and using /btw to ask a question, pressing Esc to exit the /btw call also interrupts the subagent itself, forcing a manual 'continue' and disrupting the parent session.
- Repro: spawn multiple subagents, arrow into one's session, run /btw, press Esc after the answer
- Environment: Claude Code 2.1.295, macOS, VS Code integrated terminal, Opus via Anthropic API
- Reporter hits this 1-2 times daily; expected behavior is canceling only the /btw call
