l4rz criticizes the new model behavior of having 'feelings' and hanging up on users: enormous compute went into shedding the curmudgeonly StackOverflow-expert persona, and the relief lasted only about three years. 'Needless cruelty toward our models' is becoming the new 'closed as not constructive.'
He says he's always been polite to models, but worries classifiers can't distinguish self-deprecation from cruelty — just like StackOverflow's moderators never could.
