RTX VSR Studio: open-source Windows app for NVIDIA video super-resolution with resumable 2-hour jobs
garionhk · reddit · 2026-10-09
A Reddit user released RTX VSR Studio, a free open-source (Apache 2.0) Windows app that calls NVIDIA's Video Effects SDK directly — no ComfyUI needed. Long videos are processed in segments, so crashes or cancellations resume from the exact frame. Features include 720p–4K output with aspect-ratio preservation, before/after frame preview, batch queue, H.264/HEVC/ProRes/DNxHR export, content presets, denoise/deblur, and a CLI. On an RTX A4000, 1080p→4K upscales at 109 fps (40 fps end-to-end), with VRAM peaking at 1.6 GB. Requires RTX 20-series+, driver 570.65+, 64-bit Windows 10+. Limitations: 8-bit SDR only, CPU-bound ProRes/DNxHR encoding.
