Open-source local image library asks: how do you find an old generation by its settings?
shivam_dewan · reddit · 2026-10-09
The designer of a free, open-source, local-first platform that indexes generated images and extracts prompt, model and settings from each file is seeking input before building the next part. The problem: thousands of images across A1111, Forge, ComfyUI and CivitAI downloads, where you remember one that worked but not the folder, checkpoint or seed. A designed (unshipped) image page puts prompt/model/settings first with copy buttons, the seed on its own line, and the workflow when present. Three questions: how do you find old images today; what do you search by most (prompt words, checkpoint, LoRA, seed, date); and for images with stripped metadata, what would you still want to know? UI mockups attached; beta offered.
