Dev ships MCP server that lets Claude Code publish and share its tools
Zalaso · reddit · 2026-10-09
A developer released ShareBox, a self-hosted platform plus MCP server that fixes the problem of Claude Code-built tools being stuck on localhost.
- Usage: tell Claude "build a vacation tracker for my team and publish it on ShareBox"; Claude reads the built-in shareboxguide, writes the tool, calls shareboxpublish and returns an HTTPS link. Then "share it with [email protected]" triggers shareboxshare, effective immediately.
- The platform handles Google sign-in, per-tool storage and sandboxing, so generated tools need no login or database of their own — they just call sharebox.me() and sharebox.collection("vacations").add(...).
- Setup: npm i -g sharebox-cli, sharebox login your-instance.example.com, claude mcp add --scope user sharebox -- sharebox mcp.
- Listed in the official MCP registry as io.github.zalaso/sharebox; self-hosted, AGPL, and built entirely with Claude Code itself.
