Agent Buddy: an ESP32 desk pet that shows what your coding agents are up to
DanWahlin · x · 2026-10-09
Dan Wahlin released Agent Buddy, a desk buddy for AI coding agents. It shows at a glance whether GitHub Copilot, Claude, Codex, Grok and others are working, need your approval, or are done—focused eyes and orbiting dots when busy, a head tilt with an amber question mark when attention is needed, a short celebration on completion. It also displays Copilot AI credits or token usage, and naps after two idle minutes.
Runs on an ESP32 device, or via a new desktop app with no hardware needed. Badges track up to six agent sessions combined into one state, and the site offers a live in-browser demo identical to the device animation.
