Study: When AI drafts the text, expert lawyers engage more with the argument — and win more

A new study on how experts use AI found that when AI drafts the prose, lawyers feel less attached to the text and spend more time engaging with the legal argument itself, leading to better outcomes.
The findings are also being read as a rebuttal to the popular "writing is thinking" claim: in expert workflows, who produces the text doesn't necessarily determine depth of thought — delegating drafting to AI can free experts to focus on substantive judgment.
