Tweet Hunter founder: moats are discovered, not designed
tibo_maker · x · 2026-10-08
Indie maker tibo pushes back on the claim that his audience is his moat: when he built Tweet Hunter he had zero followers. The moat came from one small decision — using his own product publicly every day, writing threads and testing hooks with it. He cites Cursor (started as an editor people opened daily) and Midjourney (launched on Discord because it was the fastest way to ship). Moats like network effects and brand look designed in hindsight but usually start as an unstrategic product decision; you can't see your moat on day 1 because it doesn't exist yet.
