"Most AI-pilled people are underspending": $100k/month Claude bill sparks debate
ravisparikh · x · 2026-10-08
Founder Ravi Parikh cites peterpme's back-of-envelope math showing that even with a 10x error margin or self-hosted GPUs, a SpaceX-budget-level user's AI usage still works out to roughly $100k/month. Parikh argues most "AI-pilled" people are actually underspending on AI — $100k/month is still too low for someone with SpaceX's budget. He caveats that spend should be a byproduct of productive work, not a target, and shares his own Anthropic API bill about 10 days into the month.
