Manus parent raises over $500M, launches Manus 2.0 and AI assistant Cue
APPSO · wechat · 2026-10-08
Butterfly Effect, the parent company of Manus, announced a new funding round of over $500M, led by Boyu Capital and IDG Capital, with existing investors Tencent, Sequoia China, and ZhenFund participating. It's the first disclosed raise since Manus regained independent operation after the Meta acquisition buyback.
Before the announcement, Manus shipped Manus 2.0 and a personal AI assistant called Cue for overseas users:
- Manus 2.0 rebuilds the agent backbone with the in-house Cascade framework, a persistent cloud computer, and automated workflows triggered by email, calendar, Slack, Notion, and other events
- Cue targets personal life and work scenarios; each agent has its own identity, email, phone number, wallet, and cloud computer, and can be added to group chats
The company is also building a China-focused product team and partnering with domestic model providers.
