Demo is not delivery: what enterprise AI adoption actually takes
sujingshen · x · 2026-10-08
A practitioner who led AI adoption in game development pushes back on the trend of overselling enterprise AI transformation. Quoting a critique of newly-minted "AI consultants" armed only with Claude Code, Codex and prompt skills, the author argues a working demo is far from production: the hard parts are getting teams to use AI daily, reshaping workflows, and owning failures. Real delivery requires understanding business processes, plus API/RAG/system integration, permissions, data security, cost and ops. Using AI tools is not the same as AI engineering, and demos are not enterprise-grade delivery.
