Marc Andreessen: Psychedelics are making stressed-out Silicon Valley founders quit to become surf instructors
MatthewBerman · x · 2026-10-08
Marc Andreessen describes a growing Silicon Valley phenomenon: founders under pressure try psychedelics, come back calmer and at peace — and then quit their companies, move to Indonesia, and become surf instructors. He says there have been a whole bunch of such cases, and complains to Huberman about it.
Huberman's Yoda-like reply: how do you know they're not happier? Matthew Berman sums up the tension: founder says "I'm happy and at peace," VC says "yeah but you're not making me money."
