Sentry cofounder blasts Google for deprecating a key model, says LLM pricing hasn't gotten cheaper in 6 months of data

David Cramer (zeeg), cofounder of Sentry, called out Google for deprecating a model his team relies on in production and replacing it with a more expensive one they don't need.
He adds that six months of his own billing data shows LLM inference isn't actually cheaper in absolute dollars: top-end intelligence costs about the same, and comparable intelligence hasn't dropped meaningfully in price. His parting shot: vendors these days are annoying.
