Hands-on: OpenAI's new Decisions API edges out Jev in accuracy and image classification
cantrell · x · 2026-10-08
The author benchmarked Jev against OpenAI's new Decisions API using ai-sdk: Jev is slightly faster but not meaningfully so outside latency-critical uses; the Decisions API is slightly more accurate (Jev can't do date math); and for image classification the Decisions API wins by a wide margin. Verdict: if you're already on OpenAI APIs, there's little case for Jev. He invites others to share differing results.
