Tavos' Griffin claims video Turing Test pass; Anil Seth warns fake humans will be disastrous

Tavos announced Griffin, a "human interaction model" claimed to be the first AI product to pass a video-based Turing Test—indistinguishable from a real person even with audio and video. Consciousness researcher Anil Seth, writing in Nautilus, calls it a terrible development: scams, mental health crises and reality-fantasy confusion could rival or exceed social media's damage, and "the only way to ensure safety is to not build these things in the first place."
