Self-hostable SimpleLogin MCP server ships 27 tools for AI-managed email aliases
Enthouan · reddit · 2026-10-08
A developer open-sourced a self-hostable, MIT-licensed MCP server for SimpleLogin, letting Claude, Codex or custom agents manage email aliases directly. The v1.0.2 release ships 27 tools covering alias creation/lookup/enabling/deletion, alias activity, contacts, reverse aliases, mailboxes and custom-domain settings.
Highlights:
- Supports stdio and Streamable HTTP (Docker Compose included); local stdio opens no network listener, HTTP binds loopback by default and requires a bearer token
- Unofficial; the API key grants broad access and metadata passes through the MCP client and model provider
- No reading email bodies; permanent deletion requires explicit confirm: true
The author demonstrates a lookup-then-disable alias workflow with agent confirmation, plus articles on email organization with aliases.
