Operator-1 launches as autonomous document extraction agent for long tables and sprawling PDFs
ycombinator · x · 2026-10-08
kushal byatnal introduced operator-1, an autonomous document extraction agent that reportedly saturates multiple third-party benchmarks and delivers the most accurate results on complex tasks other solutions can't handle.
Its focus areas: long tables with thousands of rows, lengthy files with context scattered across hundreds of pages, and dense diagrams and images.
Technically, operator-1 runs within a custom workspace and uses dedicated tools — parse, search, zoom, code execution, and validation — to handle arbitrary documents, while learning via persistent memory.
