Semwright v1: an open-source runtime letting AI agents drive Blender, Motion Canvas and MLT
Miserable-Tiger-3443 · reddit · 2026-10-08
A developer released v1 of Semwright, an open-source runtime for AI agents to work inside real applications:
- Demo: an agent modifies materials and camera in an existing Blender project, renders shots, creates titles in Motion Canvas, and assembles video and audio via MLT—with the timeline remaining editable afterward
- Design: Semwright provides structured operations for supported apps, handles permissions and artifact handoffs, and lets agents read back what actually happened
- Ecosystem: MCP is one way to connect; it doesn't replace MCP or lock you into a specific agent
Source is on GitHub; the author is seeking feedback from anyone running MCP agents across multiple apps.
