Building a sellable 3D wuxia ARPG with AI: Tripo modeling plus Claude coding, pitfalls included
tinyfool · x · 2026-10-09
Developer @cnyzgkc shares a full workflow for AI-building a 3D wuxia ARPG to sell on Xiaohongshu, after their 3D Monopoly video went viral and attracted paid requests.
Key pitfall and fix:
- AI-generated models had messy topology that broke on rigging (legs stretching into triangles, arms twisting on punches)
- Tripo Smart Mesh P2.0 generates native quad topology, no manual retopology needed; combined with UV unwrapping, auto-rigging, and preset animations, character motion finally worked smoothly
- Remaining code was done with Claude
Four-step workflow: ① define game rules and asset list upfront, keep character/building/weapon styles consistent, and brief the AI on controls, skills, and equipment systems before coding; ② create assets in Tripo, rig and export as GLB; ③ wire the game up with Claude + Three.js; ④ iterate on controls and gameplay design.
