Interactive 3D Built With Claude Opus 5.5 Visualizes Magnet vs Laser Fusion Routes
techartist_ · x · 2026-10-08
A digital artist built an interactive 3D visualization of the two real routes to near-limitless clean fusion energy using Claude Opus 5.5, inspired by ITER (magnets, France) and NIF (lasers, California):
- Tokamak: 150 million °C plasma sitting metres from magnets at −269 °C
- NIF shot: 192 beams turning 2.08 MJ of input into 8.6 MJ of output
The designs and key figures are real, proportions approximate, and the laser shot is slowed hundreds of millions of times so it's visible to the eye.
