Vik Paruchuri calls out model copying: inspiration doesn't let you rename it and change the license
VikParuchuri · x · 2026-10-08
Vik Paruchuri, author of the Marker/Docling document models, publicly called out a team on X: besides issues with how they use the pyannote model and Llama Guard, he stressed that "inspiration" does not permit copying a model, renaming it, and swapping the license. He says he's glad they liked the model, but the license terms still apply. Another live flashpoint in the ongoing debate over open-source model license enforcement and reuse boundaries.
