Google DeepMind's Philipp Schmid: Give Every AI Agent Its Own Managed Cloud Sandbox
AI Engineer · youtube · 2026-10-08
At AI Engineer World's Fair, Google DeepMind's Philipp Schmid walked through Gemini's new agent stack, arguing agents shouldn't run on your laptop — one API call gives them their own cloud computer.
- Interactions API: one interface for models and agents, with server-side state, long-running background jobs, and built-in + custom tools across text, audio and images; steps replace user/model turns
- Antigravity agent: runs the same harness as the Antigravity IDE in a managed sandbox — agents run code, install tools, share environments, and auto-load skills and AGENTS.md files
- Agents API packages reusable agents; a new Gemini API CLI was also announced
- Demo: an AI talk radio show generated from a single prompt, plus a look inside the sandbox (just files), environment downloads, and the managed agent loop
