McKinsey's latest AI survey finds:
- 32% of respondents say their company passed on at least one software purchase because they could build it in-house with AI coding tools — 41% in tech.
- Nearly 3 in 4 AI high performers have fundamentally redesigned workflows due to AI, and are likelier to measure AI's impact, manage AI costs, and run human-in-the-loop processes.
- 60% expect to increase AI investment next year.
Takeaway: companies getting furthest with AI are transforming how they work, not just adding tools.
