Developer slams Windsurf's dots: heavy restrictions, poor local setup, likely a push to move data to the cloud
sethlazar · x · 2026-10-07
Seth Lazar tried dots and came away unimpressed: lots of annoying restrictions, poor compatibility with local setups, and he suspects it's fundamentally a play to push private data into the cloud and away from machines users control. He asks for the ability to disable them, or for the feature to be spun into a separate app and removed from the subscription.
