AI can't replace fundamentals: without them you lose decision authority

The author argues AI tempts people to skip fundamentals, but AI can't do your entire job end to end. Being good at your job means having decision authority — knowing enough to decide what should be done, what matters, what good looks like, and when something is wrong. Outsource the fundamentals to AI too, and you can't consistently make good decisions.
