Booked a dentist appointment without talking to a human — a voice agent did it in 2 minutes
krunal_builds · reddit · 2026-10-07
A user who builds AI agents for a living called his dentist's office to reschedule a cleaning — and a voice AI agent handled the whole thing in about two minutes: offered two slots, verified his insurance was unchanged, and sent a text confirmation before hanging up.
Stress-testing it, he found it handled mid-sentence changes of mind well; on an off-script question it deferred to the human office staff rather than guessing, which he calls the right call.
He notes the desk-time savings potential — front desks juggle calls, check-ins, and insurance, and a missed call is a lost patient — and asks clinic operators whether voice agents actually cut load.
