Dev slams Linear for shipping "just a chat box" instead of rethinking work for AI agents

Developer devenbhooshan publicly voiced disappointment with Linear: he had hoped the project management tool would rethink how work gets planned and shipped in the age of AI agents — instead, Linear shipped a chat box.
The critique hits a broader problem in project management software's AI pivot: wrapping an LLM in a chat UI isn't the same as rebuilding the product for agent workflows. Redesigning tickets, planning, and delivery for agents that execute tasks autonomously remains unsolved for the whole category.
