Mihaela van der Schaar's lab is open for fully funded ML PhD applications for a 2027 start, with an online open house on 27 October at 4pm UK time. The lab builds new ML from first principles for medicine, biology and economics — from the UK's first ML ICU-demand forecasting system to causal models for breast cancer and transplant matching that added up to a year of life expectancy in experiments.
