The new Basis Fellowship is accepting applications for its 2026 founding cohort, open to operators, engineers and scientists of any background.
- $50,000 with no strings attached; a ten-minute, always-open application
- Lifetime network included; $1,000 for referring a fellow, $3,000 discretionary awards for cool rejected applications
- Run by the team behind the Duct Tape Prize and Eigenprize
- First named fellow: Ayush Noori (30 papers before finishing Harvard, Rhodes Scholar, Oxford DPhil on Alzheimer's/Parkinson's treatments)
- Advisors include Sequoia partner David Cahn (author of "AI's $600B Question") and former NASA astronaut Kate Rubins
