Unreleased 2019 Dario Amodei memo "The Path to AGI" revealed — its 5-step plan played out exactly

Kevin Roose's book The AGI Chronicles reveals that soon after GPT-2's 2019 release, then-OpenAI VP of Research Dario Amodei wrote an unpublished memo, "The Path to AGI," laying out a five-step plan: train an LLM on all internet text, expand context windows, add multimodality, use RL to boost math/coding, then recursively self-improve. Each step has since played out — GPT-3, GPT-4, long context, multimodal, and reasoning RL. Kevin Kwok is now seeking the full memo.
