Kalshi bets on 'Silicon Spread': trading power-in, compute-out as AI's key commodity spread
nima_owji · x · 2026-10-07
Kalshi plans to launch additional compute and power markets so traders can speculate on and hedge the physical infrastructure behind AI. Borrowing from the classic gas-to-power 'spark spread,' the post proposes a 'Silicon Spread' — power in, compute out — treating compute and power as the two most important inputs of the AI revolution. Kalshi says it is taking a methodical approach covering price discovery and hedging.
