ChipForge NPU Challenge Goes Live: Crowdsource AI Accelerator Designs Headed to Real Silicon
bittingthembits · x · 2026-10-07
ChipForge (SN108), a Bittensor subnet, has launched its NPU Challenge: the first quest asks participants to design an AI accelerator chip plus the software to run it. Designs must execute four real AI models spanning voice, vision and sensor tasks with exact-reference outputs, scored on chip area and speed. Miners compete, validators verify, and top designs earn rewards, with rules and an evaluator included. The team calls it the first step from open competition toward real fabricated silicon.
