Codex-built Blink 2: an interactive flight sim with a real software depth buffer
MikePFrank · x · 2026-10-07
- A friend prompted Codex to elaborate a simple simulation into Blink 2, now live with interactive fly-through capability.
- It's a genuine XYZ simulation with perspective projection and a software depth buffer — not a game engine: obstacles, terrain and eyes compete by camera depth, and eyes less than 55% visible produce no detections.
- Modes include free flight and a 120-second signal hunt (hold an eye in the reticle and scan for 0.6s to score), plus multiple camera views, seeded replay, and graphics presets up to 1440×900.
- A tracker overlay marks confirmed sightings (green), tentative (gold), and uncertain (pink) detections.
