Claude moves into Google Docs, Sheets and Slides via sidebar

Anthropic announced that Claude now works inside Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides — and those files can also be opened within Claude.

In Google Workspace, Claude sits in a sidebar next to your file, reads what you have open, and edits in place, with each edit requiring your approval before landing. The poster quipped that Gemini is watching Claude move into Google Docs.

It's a major step in Claude's Google ecosystem integration — turning Claude from a chat tool into a collaborator embedded in office workflows, competing head-to-head with Gemini inside Workspace.
