MIT CSAIL Launches Ascent Lab, a Browser Platform for Robot Learning, With Solana Token

MIT CSAIL today launched Ascent Lab, a browser-based platform for designing virtual robots and exploring how they learn to walk or climb.
- Users can modify a robot's body and train its movement controller, then share the result for others to inspect and continue.
- To sustain the computation behind the experiments, the team is testing a crypto model: participants can fund the experiments they choose to run and eventually back challenges that reward others for finding verified solutions.
- The accompanying $ASCENT token launches today on Solana; it pays for experiment execution from day one, with prices quoted in dollars.
The goal is to let more people experiment with robot learning firsthand while exploring a token economy to sustain compute.
