Databricks launches Lakebase, a database rearchitected for AI-speed workloads

Databricks has introduced Lakebase, a ground-up rearchitecture of databases that can spin instances up and shut them down at "AI speeds," targeting the many small, fast workloads of AI-driven development.
The project is featured in Fast Company's Next Big Things in Tech issue, as promoted by CTO Matei Zaharia.
