X's open-source recommendation algorithm adds a NOTICE visibility outcome and new watch-time signals
tetsuoai · x · 2026-10-06
X's latest open-source recommendation algorithm update introduces a fourth visibility outcome, NOTICE: the post stays in the feed with an attached notice, and the README notes nothing in the repo generates the notice itself.
Other changes:
- Ranking attention predictions now use video continuation seconds and profile visit seconds instead of active seconds, though both weights default to zero in this sync.
- New modules include popular-posts and popular-authors jobs, a trusted-friends visibility client, and an underthehood trace linking each pipeline component to its source file.
