dhh: frontier AI agents can't find Elixir's 'go fast' switches — bad look for the language
evilsocket · x · 2026-10-06
Responding to criticism over Elixir performance, dhh says he didn't hand-tune anything: he simply asked two frontier agents to make the most of Elixir, and the result speaks for itself. He welcomes speed-up PRs but argues that if frontier agents can't locate the magic "go fast" switches, it's not exactly a point in Elixir's favor — framing AI agents as a new litmus test for language ergonomics.
