Robot Threads Beads on a String by Feel: Daimon's Tactile World Model at IROS 2026
CyberRobooo · x · 2026-10-06
At IROS 2026, Daimon Robotics demoed a robot picking up tiny beads, aligning their holes, and threading them onto a flexible string. The hard part begins at contact: beads slip, strings deform, and small force changes derail the next move—vision can't tell the robot what's happening inside its grasp. Daimon's answer is Daimon-TWM, a tactile-grounded world model that uses touch to understand interactions, predict outcomes, and adjust actions, built on its growing vision-tactile dataset.
