Dev argues agent harnesses are vendor-locked, making neutral AI coding tools a pain to build

- Developer zeeg argues that today's coding agent harnesses and APIs are vendor-specific, making vendor-neutral tooling a huge pain: you often have to alter the harness's default scoping — tools, prompt modifications, or even core behavior.
- Replying to @pvncher, who is skeptical of investing in minor efficiency gains as models increasingly specialize around their native harnesses, noting that Claude SDK and the Codex app server do let you turn off a lot out of the box, but it's not always easy. zeeg adds that these tools aren't even really just coding IDEs.
