In Dec 2024, Terence Tao and Timothy Gowers called FrontierMath Tier 3 exceptionally hard — Tao said it could 'resist AIs for several years' and Gowers called solving even a few problems 'a genuine breakthrough.' Less than two years later, even Tier-4 is saturated, showing how exponential AI progress can fool even Field Medalists.
