Arena CEO Anastasios Angelopoulos argued that paid benchmark creation introduces adverse selection: "As soon as you're paying somebody to generate a benchmark, it's actually not real anymore." He contrasted private, paid datasets with LMArena's constant stream of fresh real-world usage data, saying "there's no better judge than reality."
